Christmas Architecture Workshop for teenagers "Itinerant Community". Museo ICO 2018

Museo ICO. Calle Zorrilla, 3. Madrid.

Within the framework of the program of educational activities that the ICO Museum and hablarenarte: are carrying out during this year, we want to dedicate a few days of Christmas holidays to the youngest. For this reason, and on the occasion of the exhibition "Francis Kéré. Primary Elements", we would like to invite you to participate in the Travelling Community workshop, aimed at participants between 13 and 17 years of age.

In Francis Kéré's work, the work for and by the community, as well as the exchange of learnings and techniques, has an outstanding protagonism. During the workshop we will become familiar with the life and work of this architect, from his native village in Burkina Faso to his studio in Berlin, as well as with the materials and the community building process.

With this goal in mind, we will first learn about Francis Kéré's professional career through different dynamics and create a visual map of his journey. We will then work with a series of materials that will allow us to design an intervention in the spaces of the ICO Museum itself, which will eventually lead us to carry out this action and interact with the spectator public.

We are waiting for you!
