Cultural mediation of Navid Nuur´s exhibition HOCUS FOCUS at Matadero Madrid

Madrid

Nave 16, Matadero Madrid. Paseo de la Chopera, 14. Madrid

The “HOCUS FOCUS” exhibition explores the synesthetic, almost magical qualities of light and its ability to modify and be modified by objects. In a constant process of exploration, Navid Nuur transforms everyday materials, just like a scientist or an alchemist, putting them in a new setting or subjecting them to new conditions that turn them into artistic material.

Navid Nuur (Teherán, 1976) lives and works in The Hague, where he has built a strong career researching the established frontiers of what is regarded as art, putting forward a new sensitivity, a new way of feeling affected by what surrounds us, another way of seeing the world, of imagining it differently.

The cultural mediation proposed by hablarenarte: aims to facilitate access to the work and the artist, as well as suggesting strategies for discovering how to interact with work by this artist and highlighting visitors' ability to transform them.
