Rethinking the Periphery: cultural reactivation of peripherical zones in Pamplona

Pamplona

Rethinking the Periphery is a project that proposes a reflection on the periphery of Pamplona and how culture could arrive there and how a relationship between the different villages and suburbs as well as with the center could be achieved. Along with this, the project proposes to delve into the needs, demands and problems the inhabitants of these places live with on a daily basis in order to make collective proposals of cultural activation responding to these.

This project is developed by the architectural collectives Orekari Estudio (Pamplona) and Enter This (Berlin) and is a legacy of the Rethinking the Container project, which was carried out within the framework of our network the Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme (CAPP) in collaboration with Centro Huarte. The proposal gives continuity to the use of the Tótems, mobile devices for cultural activities, results of the last year's work process.

hablarenarte organizes the international residencies of Repensar la Peripheria. The two-week residencies contribute to the project experiences from other contexts from professionals working in the field of collaborative art to the project - an input that has to be considered crucial. The first resident is Susanne Bosch, artist and researcher from Berlin who, among other works, is the official researcher of CAPP. Susanne will be in Pamplona from October 22 to November 4, 2018 to observe the processes in the Etxabakoitz neighborhood.

Rethinking the Periphery is made possible with the "Innova Cultural" programme of Fundación Caja Navarra and Fundación "la Caixa" and Centro Huarte.
