hablarenarte (www.hablarenarte.com) is an independent platform for projects that works to support the creation, publicizing dissemination and promotion of contemporary culture.

Among its areas of action, hablarenarte

  • Promotes the curating of exhibitions and visual and performing arts events on both a national and international level.
  • Conceives and develops programs for educational and mediation programs and cultural and social cooperation actions.
  • Disseminates national contemporary creation through publications, audiovisual media and international networks of professional cooperation.
  • Assesses and develops studies for public and private organisms and offers training courses in the area of cultural management.

hablarenarte does not have its own exhibition space. It always develops its projects in cooperation with public or private institutions and cultural agents interested in hosting and supporting its proposals.


[+] Emma Brasó (Madrid)

Emma collaborates with the contemporary creation team of hablarenarte. She has a PhD from Royal College of Art (London) based on her research on the intersection of fiction and authorship since the 1980s. Before that, she obtained a master's degree in Curatorial Studies at Columbia University (New York) with a grant from 'la Caixa' and a degree in History and Theory of Art from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her exhibitions, editorial and educational projects have been presented in Madrid (La Casa Encendida, Sala de Arte Joven, Intermediae-Matadero, Tabacalera), Turin (Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo) or Glasgow (Center for Contemporary Arts). Between 2013 and 2018, she was Cultural Programme Curator at the University for the Creative Arts (Kent, UK).

[+] Laura Donis Quintana (Madrid)

Laura is responsible for the cultural accessibility and mediation programs of hablarenarte, through projects such as Empower Parents, a network that provides tools and learning resources to parents and children with ASD, working in collaboration with the ICO Museum. A social worker, with a postgraduate degree in family intervention programs and specialized in International Cooperation, she has participated in state education observatories and coordinated educational intervention and social action projects in different Latin American countries.

[+] Ignacio González Cavero (Madrid)

Ignacio is in charge of coordinating the educational and cultural mediation programs of hablarenarte. Doctor in Art History, he is an associate professor in the Department of Art History and Theory of the Universidad Autónoma of Madrid, thus combining this work with the field of teaching and research. He is also a coordinator and member of several R&D and innovation projects.

[+] Flavia Introzzi (Buenos Aires)

Flavia is in charge of the conceptualization and coordination of projects such as Curators' Network (www.curators-network.eu) and a3bandas (www.a3bandas.org). She also works in the creation of networks and collaborative alliances at the national and international levels. She is a bachelor in Sociology of Culture and has completed a Master's degree in Contemporary Art at the Museo Reina Sofía. Before joining the association, she has developed projects in collaboration with both public and private institutions, such as Intermediae - Matadero Madrid, Fundación Carolina, Casa del Lector, and Factum Art, as well as independent organizations such as the Off Limits contemporary art space.

[+] Elena Lasala (Barcelona)

Elena is part of the creation and visual arts team at hablarenarte and is in charge of coordinating projects on an international level, such as Cultural Creative Spaces and Cities and The New Dictionary of Old Ideas. She is a researcher and cultural worker that combines management with collective research projects that involve archives, photographic media, and urban interventions. She is an Art Historian and has a specialization in Contemporary Art (Museo Reina Sofía), where she also has collaborated with the department of Public Activities.

[+] Elena Pavón García (Madrid)

Elena Pavón García takes part in the association’s educational team. She participates in the designing and organization of visits and workshops at cultural centers and institutions such as the Museum ICO, Museo Cerralbo, and Casa del Lector, as well as conceptualizing and producing educational support material focused on schools, families, teenagers, children and other groups. She holds a license degree in Fine Arts (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) and has an Associate Degree in audiovisual media. Works also as an educator in several other educational activities, as a recreational activities coordinator and as a librarian assistant in school centers.

Throughout the years, hablarenarte has been built with the collaboration of multiple cultural agents, such as Javier Martín-Jiménez, Álvaro Molina Martín, Sören Meschede, Sofía de Juan, Georg Zolchow, Florencia Fergnani, Carmen Mateos, Olivia Rico, Sara Cabañas, Clara Sampaio as well as artists, curators, mediators, and educators.

hablarenarte is a non-profit association listed in the Roster of Associations of the Community of Madrid as number 23,729, with headquarters at calle Atocha 91, 1º dcha. ext., 28102 Madrid.
