Framed within the European official announcement Cultura 2000, the cultural space of meeting “Mundo Árabe” realized from the 20 th to the 29 th of December 2002 a series of activities related to various cultural initiatives of Arab origin .

With the subtitle Conocimiento, arte y cultura , and focusing on different artistic disciplines (music, photography, plastic art, dance, cooking) and other parallel activities, this Cultural meeting permitted to approach to this culture, which also belongs to us, without prejudices and stereotype.

A remarkable role in the development of this Meeting was played by the cycle of conferences dedicated to the historic and cultural relations that still link the Arabian culture to ours. At the same time it would be advisable to mention the photography exposition in which young artists showed their peculiar vision of immigration. Observing the pieces of work exposed, the audience selected the most representative photographic project, which later was presented in a European collective exhibition under the title “Arte e migrazione” at the Experimental Museum of Contemporary Art of L'Aquila ( Italy ).

The following institutions were involved in this European project: Associazione Culturale “Quarto di Santa Giusta” ( L'Aquila , Italia), Art Maniera Echange Culturel Franco-Italien (France), Taqafat Culturas y Hablar en Arte (España), Academy of Humanities and Economic ( Poland ), Migration Culturelle Aquitaine-Afrique (France) .
