BIBLIOTECA NACIONAL DE ESPAÑA MUSEUM
Sundays April 20; May 11; June 1, 15, 22 and 29; July 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2008. Saturday July 12, 2008.
Los cuentos mágicos (The Magic Tales) is an offer of workshops for families, with individual sessions on Sunday mornings, and with books that support artistic and literary development. Designed by the literary workshop of the Museo de la Biblioteca Nacional , the programme lasts for approximately two hours, during which parents and their children can develop their imaginations through four ways related to books: “ El libro de las personas del mundo”, “El cofre secreto”, “Historias diaproyectadas” y “El cuento chalado".
While the first activity is related to the visual arts and manual work, the second includes external objects that give footing to narrative creation, the third is based on the power of images and music, and the fourth is a group project involving all of the participants.
These workshops offer a type of alternative free time attached to the cultural world, and specifically, to contemporary art. An offer that, each time, supports more young families interested in enjoying the cultural life of their city.
One can consider this a different way to share free time, in which children and parents learn by seeing, playing and convening with other families, respecting and knowing that all the families have varying forms of education and diverse views on life.
