The “On Air” Award, the fourth open call for sound art for Hablar en Arte radio, distinguishes the best works of sound art on a national level. It is organized by the Asociación Hablar en Arte for Radio Círculo (100.4 FM).

The jury chose 7 outstanding pieces, as well as one finalist piece and one winning piece, from among the 73 works received from 58 different participants.

BASES

1. The theme of the work is up to the artist.
2. Participation is free.
3. Since the contest has a national character, the participants can be of any nationality but should live in Spain.
4. Each participant can present as many works as they consider appropriate.
5. Each work should be between 1 and 10 minutes in length.
6. The works can be in any audio format. You can e-mail them to radio@hablarenarte.com if the files total to less than 2MB, or you can send them on a CD to the address: Asociación Hablar en Arte, Plaza de las Salesas, 2 - 2 B, 28004 Madrid:

7. J The registration form should be enclosed with each work. It can be downloaded from www.hablarenarte.com
8. Works will be accepted until July 10, 2008.
9. CDs sent through mail will not be returned to the participants.
10. The winner of the On Air Award will receive a 4GB Creative Zen V Plus and will have an “Hablar en Arte” program on Radio Círculo—55 minutes to broadcast their sound art.
11. The finalist of the On Air Award will receive a 1GB Apple iPod Shuffle.
12. Both the winner and the finalist will receive a selection of catalogues from the 2008 Círculo de Bellas Artes exhibitions.
13. The selected works will be broadcasted on the “Hablar en Arte” program on Radio Círculo (100.4 FM) on Thursday, July 17 from 10 to 11 pm. The winner and finalist will also be announced at this time.
14. The organization reserves the right to broadcast the works in other editions of the “Hablar en Arte” program on Radio Círculo.
15. The list of selected works, as well as information such as the creators' biographies and commentaries, will be published on the web site www.hablarenarte.com
