Spoken Word is a series of literature and poetry organized by Hablar en Arte that combines and displays the main players in the Madrid scene of poetry and literature that have chosen to interpret their texts on stage. Writers, poets, performers like Ajo, Javier Montero, Gonzalo Escarpa and Julio Jara, amongst others, are some of the guests that have been invited to each session. In this series there is also an open participation from the public and collaboration with schools and writing collectives and poetry like the Hotel Kafka, the Bukowski Club and La Bella Varsovia , and some editorials such as Legado Ediciones.

Ajo is a singer, poet, agitator and character of reference of the Madrid underground culture. In the nineties she was one of the founders of the group " Mil dolores Pequeños" and of the independent record label Por Caridad Producciones. She has edit the EP "De la piel pa dentro mando yo" with Antonio Escohotado, that becomes a freedom himn. Since 2001she is co-director of the festival of experimental music "Experimentaclub" (2001-2007) and the poetry festival “Yuxtaposiciones” (2003-2007), both held at La Casa Encendida.

Gonzalo Escarpa is from Madrid, degree in Spanish Philology.
He has received several awards for poetry and short story. Works with several literary journals and is part of the editorial board of Librolí Books. Currently directs the creative writing journal "Fósforo", and is founder of the Action Group Imaginary. He has written many books of poetry : Los brazos de un abrazo , Tetraplejias , Escapa y Amor en el colmado o colmado de amor.

Josep Pedrals is a poet and reciter. With more than a thousand performances on their backs, spread over Spain, Europe and America, is one of the most amusing scene of reciting poetry. He is the author of several books and several plays (including the much-celebrated "Wamba go!"). He has led spacesof poetry in magazines, radio and television. He specializes in courses of introduction to poetry for children and youthand also in workshops ofl recitation. He Coordinates Obrador de Recitaciones y Nuevas Actitudes Literarias (HORINAL) from Barcelona.He has wrote lyrics for several musicians and bands, being himself the soul of the Gupo pop "Els nens eutròfics. (She studied Public Relations).

The artist, poet, actor and singer Julio Jara (Paris, 1962), has a long career marked by his special skill to jump from one discipline to another quite naturally. The personal and artistic history of Julio Jara is
so consistent that it takes to leavehim from the Plastic Arts for a few years to work during this time in direct action on its own, as a poet who is a practicer. |

Warsaw is a beautiful cultural group comprising a small publishing house, magazine, fanzine . As a youth association it was formed in March 2004 after operating as a separate group for a few months. .La bella Varsovia emerges as an alternative proposal that promotes the culture in general and in particular among youth literature first of the city of Cordoba, after all, with a common goal: to be a motor action. |

Javier Montero is Illustrator and writer. He has published the novel Guerra Ambiental, conducts performances and stage works with which he has participated in many festivals, runs videos, participate in art exhibitions--- He directs La Oveja Negra radio programm (Radio Círculo, 100.4 FM)based on his sonic experimentation and narrative. He is currently finishing a new novel and involved in various art projects visible and invisible . |

Saizprez was born in Lima, Peru in 1971, lived as a child in the jungle of Peru, Honduras and Costa Rica. He wrote the book "el Sexo Satélite". As a result of the process of writing the book he creates the "Poetry aircrafts". In London he wrotes Trip Hotel Carnival, a book wroted never to be published. Back in Madridhe published "el sexo satélite" and focused on doing poetry readings. Currently he´s writing "Un Corazón con Pelos". |

Bruno Galindo, writer and journalist, has been appointed as one of the revitalizing of the spoken word in Spain. In recent years he had shared stage at literary and musical calls with Blix Bargeld, Julian Cope, Arto Lindsay, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Amiri Baraka, John Giorno, Dennis Rollins and Hanif Kureishi. His bibliography includes titles such as Africa equilátera (Lunas hienas, Africa para sociedades secretas (Rafael Perez Estrada Award) and Duna 45), Vasos Comunicantes and Diarios de Corea (Debate / Random House, 2007).
