The “On Air” Award, the fifth open call for sound art for Hablar en Arte radio, distinguishes the best works of sound art on a national level. It is organized by the Asociación Hablar en Arte for Radio Círculo (100.4 FM).

The jury chose 7 outstanding pieces, as well as one Honorable Mention, one Finalist piece and one Winning piece, from among the 61 works received from 37 different participants.

BASIS

1. The theme of the works are free
2. The participation in the competition is free
3. The convocation has national character. The participants, of whichever nationality, must reside in Spain .
4. Each participant will be able to present works as deem appropriate.
5. The works, unedited or not, will have a duration more than 1 minute or less than 10 minutes.
6. The works will be presented in whichever format of audio. One will be able to send it by e-mail to radio@hablarenarte.com if the file isn't bigger than 2MB, send it through a free FTP or through the direction of FTP of Hablar en Arte, request this from us through an e-mail.
7. Together with each work will be adjoined the date of inscription of the Award, which can be downloaded from the website www.hablarenarte.com /enelaire.htm
8. The convocation will be open until May 29, 2009
9. The award-winner for the In the Air Award to a best work of radio art will receive a “Creative Zen 8GB” and will arrange a program with “Hablar en Arte” on Radio Círculo, of 55 minutes duration, to send out their sound works.
10. The finalist of In the Air Award will receive an “Apple iPod Shuffle 1GB”
11. The winner as well as the finalist will receive a selection of edited catalogues from past expositions from Círculo de Bellas Artes during the 2008-2009 seasons.
12. The selected works will be emitted in the program “Hablar en Arte” of Radio Círculo (100.4FM) Thursday June 18 th in the schedule between 10 and 11pm, where the winner and finalist will be public.
13. The organization reserves the rights to broadcast the other works in other editions of the program “Hablar en Arte” on Radio Círculo.
14. The list of selected works, as well as information-received biographies of authors and reviews, will be published on the website www.hablarenarte.com
