COMPLEMENTO DIRECTO. Semillero
COMPLEMENTO DIRECTO. Semillero is a support initiative aimed at former and current fellows of the Complemento Directo program who wish to take steps to advance their professional careers, thereby positively impacting the cohesion, innovation, and dynamism of cultural mediation.
With an annual budget of €5,500, Semillero seeks to provide one-time financial support, as well as strategic guidance, to initiatives led by former program fellows that have a positive impact on their own professional development and are of interest to the cultural mediation sector as a whole.
Throughout the years 2026, 2027, and 2028, proposals from former or current fellows who wish to benefit from and participate in the incubator will be reviewed and supported.
The incubator will operate as an open call and will be reviewed two or three times a year. For 2026, an evaluation committee is scheduled to meet on May 15 and October 15 to review applications and allocate available funds. Applications must be submitted no later than seven days before the committee meeting using this form.
As this is a new and experimental funding initiative, the Complemento Directo seed fund is open to proposals that expand upon its initial design. While not an exhaustive list, the fund currently plans to support initiatives that seek to:
- Support cultural mediation projects that extend beyond the interests of the organizing entity itself;
-Collaborations among grant recipients, whether from the same or other cohorts;
-Travel and attendance at events and gatherings (organized by other grant recipients, the Carasso Foundation, or hablarenarte);
-Travel and attendance at events and gatherings (related to cultural mediation);
-Payment of membership fees for organizations affiliated with Almazuela (only for the first year of membership);
-Provide financial support for projects that serve the collective interest of the program, other scholarship recipients, or the field of cultural mediation
-Testing or prototyping an idea, project, or small event;
-Need for in-depth advising or mentoring with Hablarenarte or another organization;
-Spending a day or two observing another student’s master’s program (master’s shadowing)
-Facilitate the legalization, integration, and entrepreneurship of migrant students from a social justice perspective.
The Complemento Directo. Semillero aims to be particularly useful in situations that, due to their exceptional, unique, or experimental nature, are more difficult to carry out within the usual frameworks of cultural mediation project funding.
For this reason, hablarenarte may consider directly managing payments, contracting third parties, or contributing its own expertise when necessary.
