As part of the project Cosmologías vulnerables, carried out in 2023 by curator Carlota Mir in collaboration with Costa Badía, Project Art Works, the MNCARS Education Department, and hablarenarte, we have published: Cosmologías vulnerables. Prácticas artísticas, cuidados y diversidad funcional.

In this publication, we compile some of the experiences shared during the year of work. In this process, we set out to think and share without seeking definitive answers or normative solutions. By creating spaces for conversation, listening, and creation, we have raised questions that we consider necessary and urgent regarding cultural and medical structures in order to address the ways in which the political and the affective are negotiated. This book is a vulnerable cosmology, a chorus traversed by fragility and the desire to broaden the spectrum of lives worth living.

It is a commitment to twisted times, adaptable formats, slow correspondences, and texts that care, for a politics situated in difference.

Contributors to the publication include Kate Adams (Project Art Works), Lola Barrera (Debajo del Sombrero), Andrea García-Santesmases, Clara López (Mesa Camilla), Fátima Masoud, María Oliver, Elena Prous, Ivan Sette, Perla Zúñiga, Costa Badía, Carlota Mir, and Carlos Almela (hablarenarte).

This publication is aimed at all those whose lives are linked to caregiving, professionals in the fields of culture and functional diversity, users of health services, and health rights activists.

The book launch will take place on October 9 at 6:00 p.m. at the Matadero Artistic Residency Center.

You can purchase the book from the Catarata editorial website or in bookstores.
