The violence of aging

Marginalization is a form of violence that can be counteracted by creating emotional bonds.

For this edition of Escuela del Presente in Warsaw, a workshop was held with artist Ana Gallardo, who developed a proposal for work on the violence suffered during old age. In this workshop, Ana Gallardo worked from an approach that seeks to establish relationships of friendship and solidarity among older people, contrasting with their invisibility in modern western life.

Escuela del Presente is a project curated by hablarenarte and developed in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes and its venues. Escuela del Presente collectively addresses urgent issues and problems from an artistic perspective, in dialogue with schools, associations and the cultural institutions that host its activities in different cities.
