Exhale: active rest mediation practices

Presentation

Infinito Delicias, Madrid. 11th of February, from 17 to 20:30h.

Opening Day for the Research Processes in Cultural, Artistic, and Community Mediation of the NOTAR Program

Between action and pause, practices take root. The same occurs in research residencies. It is necessary to dedicate time to active rest where the experience is transformed.

Two months after the conclusion of the NOTAR 2025 cultural mediation research residencies, we organize a meeting to share their processes and developments.

Deciding between a rabbit or a duck, delving into anti-adultist worldviews, enjoying a parkuir tour of Infinito Delicias, and even performing an archive that defies categorization.

With the participation of the Massa Salvatge collective, Jordi Ferreiro, Parkuir, and Marianela Vega & Diana Castro. An opportunity to delve into these processes and the resulting methodological resources.

Notar is a research support program focused on knowledge and practices in the field of cultural, artistic, and community mediation. It promotes the creation of methodological resources as a result of this research.

Space is limited; you can reserve your spot here.

#1 Worldviews: Focus Points for Anti-Adult Mediation, by Massa Salvatge

Presentation and activation of a playful device that emerged from the collective's research during the NOTAR 2024 residency. This device allows for the visualization and sharing of reflections on cultural mediation experiences critical of the adult perspective.

#2 Duck or Rabbit? by Jordi Ferreiro

Can cultural mediation be considered an artistic practice? To explore this question, the session proposes a space for reflection between mediators and artists, guided by a performative questionnaire, where we will share methodologies and experiences of mediation work, and also think about the material conditions that support it.

#3 Performative Visit to Infinito Delicias by Parkuir

A spatial reflection on Infinito Delicias through a performative tour, exploring queer architecture. A building has been born—is it alive? Is it queer? Trans? Fat? Disabled? They will test architectural structures through drag, action, play, and absurdity, aiming to answer the question: Can a construction be mediated? The journey will end in Sala Marina, where they will share their publication compiling the methodologies and ideas that underpin this new sport, Parkuir.

#4 Opening the Archive by Diana Castro and Marianela Vega

For some bodies, migration means silence, enduring, even dissociation. It also means seeking spaces to dance, laugh, embrace, and resist from a place of displacement. Where and how are the stories of migrant bodies currently being archived? A performative lecture that, through sensory and artistic means, articulates audiovisual language and personal testimony to explore the mediation experience and the collectively generated anarchives with the participants.
