Calcografía Nacional, Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando de Madrid

From October 3 to November 17, 2013, the exhibition "Impressions +386. Contemporary Slovenian Art" will on show at Calcografía Nacional (Madrid), featuring the most recent graphic art production from Slovenia. Nine artists and artistic groups will present their latest work in a selection curated by Breda Skrajanec, Museum Counsellor of  The Study Room and Collection at the International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC) in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Among the artists are Stripburger, a groupt primarily known for their work as editors of fanzines and other publications since 1992, and The Golden Thigh (Mladen Stropnik, Skušek Katja and Nataša Skušek) who develop a personal universe oscillating between gastronomy and multiple art.

The other artists are Vesna Drnovšek, Tanja Lažetić, Tomaž Tomažin, Sašo Sedlaček, Marija Mojca Pungerčar, Svetlana Jakimovska Rodić and Petra Varl. These last two artists have been invited to come to Madrid to prepare two site specific works at Calcografía. Svetlana Jakimovska works with three-dimensional installations and Petra Varl will create a mural out of her black and white illustrations.

"Impressions +386. Contemporary Slovenian Art" is part of the official program of the 30th Biennial of Graphic Arts and has been made possible thanks to a multilateral agreement among Slovenian and Spanish institutions. Calcografía Nacional de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, the association hablarenarte through its platform for Graphic and Multiple Art “Ingráfica” and Ankaria Foundation have contributed financially to bring the project to Madrid.
