Jaume Plensa. Opera, theatre and friends. Visits and workshops

Madrid

Museo ICO. Calle Zorrilla, 3. Madrid

The Museo Colecciones ICO presents the first exhibition by Jaume Plensa that shows his creations for opera and theater. Alongside his work as a sculptor, Plensa has designed sets, costumes and spatial concepts for operatic and theatrical productions since 1996. Special emphasis is placed on the four collaborations for opera that he developed together with Alex Ollé and Carlos Padrissa (La Fura dels Baus), showing a new sculptural language for stage design that still continues to revolutionize the visual world of the opera.

During this exhibition the ICO Collections Museum hosts for the first time a full program of educational activities aiming at schoolchildren and families. Organized and designed by hablarenarte: these activities seek to approach contemporary art to the little ones and at the same time want to help the families developing new concepts of leisure and cultural entertainment.
