Los jueves... ¡A jugar!: The Sculptor's Studio

Madrid

Museo Cerralbo. Calle Ventura Rodríguez, 17. Madrid

Among its educational projects, the Museo Cerralbo promotes a cycle of activities for children between three and five years of age, designed to offer first contact with its collections and museum space.

The program “Los jueves… ¡A jugar!” (“It’s Thursday… Let’s Play!”), designed by hablarenarte: offers a cycle intended to discover different professions related to artistic and literary creation.

In “The Sculptor’s Studio,” participants learn the basic elements and tools associated with that profession. They receive a first-hand view of the materials and techniques that make up an artwork and an idea of how sculptors actually make their works. First, certain works from the collection are chosen, and then, participants move to a room set up like an sculptor’s studio. There, the toddlers become artists themselves.
