Cultura Resident. Gestión cultural is an open call for research and experimentation in the field of cultural management understood as a hybrid professional practice, transversal to the cultural ecosystem and situated in a specific context. It is promoted by Consorci de Museus of Comunitat Valenciana and Planta Alta - hablarenarte.

From hablarenarte we define cultural management as an autonomous and relevant practice, with the capacity to generate critical theory and to articulate situated thinking in the doing.

Based on these premises, in this first edition, which was open from April the 1st to May the 6th, the project En lo oscuro está lo infinito, promoted by the Taller Placer collective, was selected. Taller Placer (Vicente Arlandis and Paula Miralles) has been investigating the contemporary conditions of work, and on this occasion, the focus is on the night work: its fevers, movements, doings, powers and limits. Although it is driven by a collective of artists, this proposal interrogates (cultural) work from perspectives of care, biopolitics and ecologies, shaking a highly conflictive territory in the present.

The jury was formed by José Luis Pérez Pont, managing director of the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana; the Planta Alta team (Carlos Almela and Flavia Introzzi); Sandra Tello, journalist and cultural manager (Associació Valenciana de Crítics d'Art); Marc Martínez, video-creator (Associació d'Artistes Visuals de València, Alacant i Castelló) and Elba Torres, cultural manager (Associació Valenciana de Professionals de la Cultura).

Taller Placer will be in residence at Planta Alta during the months of September, October and November 2022.
