REtRATO. Digital camera workshop

Alicante

CAMON Alicante. Avenida Ramón y Cajal, 5. Alicante

The workshops will show attendees how to take “good” photos with very few resources, starting out from pictures taken with cameras used on an everyday basis, including cell phones and compact cameras. The session will be addressing the main techniques used in portrait photography, such as light, colour, composition (how to use perspective, framing and focus) and movement. The images obtained will then be altered using good quality open source digital retouching applications such as Gimp and Aviary.

Particular emphasis will be placed on conceptual factors to take into account when photographing people, to achieve the objective of capturing the human psyche through gestures or the gaze at the right moment: the image we give out to others is as important as the subject’s awareness of being photographed.
