Intervention of Ron Haselden for La Noche en Blanco 2007

Madrid

Edificio España. Plaza de España, 1. Madrid

Ron Haselden sculpts with light and turns ordinary objects into works of art. In his big-scale pieces it is fundamental for him to establish a dialogue with the audience, who in the end realizes the work.

For La noche en blanco about 200 children were asked to draw the elements of a garden. During the night of the 22 nd of September these drawings were transferred to the wall of Edificio España. The over 400 empty windows of this emblematic building were occupied by a group of volunteers armed with bulbs and colour gelatine. Coordinated through a special radio transmission of Radio Círculo they dyed the windows with colour as if each window were one pixel of the drawings of the children.
