Seminario para profesorado. Como quien se arrima a un árbol

Sala de Arte Santander (Boadilla del Monte)

Sala de Arte Santander (Boadilla del Monte)

As part of the Como quien se arrima a un árbol outreach program, organized by the Santander Foundation and hablarenarte, this seminar for teachers aims to create a space for two-way exchange between the museum and the school.

The seminar proposes using walking as an artistic methodology, drawing on Julian Opie’s work Seven People Walking as a starting point.

Sharpening our listening, refining our sense of touch, and suspending our vision to make other approaches to art possible.

Questioning the divisions between the art gallery and the outside world, the school and the outside world, and reestablishing the “continuity of the parks”—the continuity of landscapes. Creating a way of being in-between.

Through co-design between teachers and art mediators, the art gallery will become a resource for the school, and vice versa. The seminar aims to serve as a point of contact for teachers and educational institutions to submit their proposals to the gallery in preparation for the 2025–2026 school year.

The seminar, which is completely free, will take place on Saturday, May 17, from 10:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It is aimed at teachers and is open to educators, mediators, social workers, and anyone interested in art and education.
