Summer School at Museo ICO: "Watch out. Photography and City

Madrid

Museo ICO. Calle Zorrilla, 3. Madrid

Museo ICO invites you, one more year, to the Summer School for kids. The camera will be the tool for the kids participating in the workshops, readjusting their view on the world and helping them to develop a personal and critical point of view about their surroundings.

On the occasion of the XVI edition of PhotoEspaña 2013 International Festival of Photography, The Summer School Watch out. Photography and City will work for a week around concepts related with the exhibition “Razón y ciudad” (Reason and City), a retrospective about the Spanish photographer Manolo Laguillo. Through his artwork, and studying the way he captures pieces of history and urban transformations, we will learn how to observe the city in a different way, and pay attention to its contrasts, capturing its evolution and rhythms with our camera.

During the week, we will organize activities, games and workshops in order to familiarize the participants with photography. By realizing the proposed tasks, they will develop their creative potential in an amusing, entertaining, and enjoyable way, discovering new ways of looking to reality. Saturday will be the day when participants will create their own exhibition where they will exhibit the artwork they have done during the week. That will be the moment where family and friends will be able to enjoy themselves visiting the exhibition.
