World Day of Music

Madrid

Círculo de Bellas Artes. Calle Alcalá, 42. Madrid

The Fête de la Musique', also known as World Music Day, is a music festival taking place on June 21. This World Music Day was initiated in 1982 by the French Ministry of Culture.
Since then, it has become a worldwide phenomenon with over 32 countries worldwide having their own celebrations in their own way.

The main idea of the World Music Day  is to promote music and to make all genres of music accessible to the public. All concerts must be free to the public, and all performers donate their time for free.

During the years 2002, 2003 and 2004,  hablarenarte: organizes together with the music magazine Doce Notas at the Circulo de Bellas Arts the Madrid edition of the World Music Day. Three editions which offer during one day a wide range of music of kinds of trends and styles to a general public.
